Description

New for 2020, the feature-rich S20 Hunter is the next generation of Sako hunting rifle. By its nature, the Sako S20 is a modular rifle that is designed to allow the shooter to change its stock configuration to meet their needs. The S20 Hunter features an ergonomic thumbhole stock that is packed with features any hunter will appreciate. Using spacers on the buttpad, the S20 Hunter allows the shooter adjust their length of pull and the numbered quick-adjust cheekpiece ensures the hunter will always have their ideal sight picture when shouldering their rifle. The S20 Hunter also features a specially designed five round Cartridge Plus magazine (three for magnum calibers), that provides extra length for reloaders. Additionally, the S20 Hunter features quick-detach points for mounting sling hardware on both sides of the stock and soft-touch inserts on the forend and pistol grip.

The Sako S20's stainless steel action is brand new and features a 3-lug, push feed bolt with plunger ejection to maximized reliability. The Cerakoted receiver of the S20 features a machined Picatinny rail that allows for the easy mounting of riflescopes. The trigger of the S20 is adjustable for pull weight and for position within the trigger guard (± 7mm) to ensure an absolute perfect length of pull for the shooter. The barrel of the S20 is made from stainless steel and fluted to reduce weight and barrel cool down time. The muzzle of the rifle is 5/8x24 threaded, allowing for the addition of muzzle devices like suppressors or brakes.

The rifle is an excellent build with well thought out features. Accuracy is terrific. I especially like the aluminum chassis. I shoot for hunting purposes, but really like to run the precision butt stock with the hunting forend. After trying out a few handload options, I developed a load that will shoot one ragged hole. Couldn't ask any more from a factory rifle. I now have purchased multiple firearms and scopes from Eurooptic and highly recommend this company.

I have experience with about 15 other bolt action rifles. It is early in the use…but I think this rifle is great. Sako seems to have taken the Tikka T3X and have upgraded key features on the S20. The bolt is very smooth, the bolt handle in my opinion seems perfect, and the trigger is crisp. The integrated pic rails are a good idea, though some may not like the thought of not getting the rail with a 10 or 20 MOA rise. I have never had a thumb hole stock; however, I am very experienced with the AR-15, M4, and M16. I found the stock to be very comfortable and aiding me in getting a solid grip for hunting types shooting positions. I really like the adjustable cheek rest. The magazine is good and not over priced like the Sako A7 or 85. Ok….now let’s talk about the most serious item for all rifles….accuracy. As I said up front it’s early but so far the Sako S20 is showing some amazing accuracy. No reloads yet, just box ammo (Berger and Nosler). Nosler gave me a .7 inch at 100 yards and Berger gave me a 9 shot group with an average of .5 inch. Again it is early but cleaning the barrel is easy, it is so smooth, this has been an indicator that a rifle is accurate. I bought the 6.5 PRC and love it. Looking forward to a windy Rocky Mountain day to test outside. Euro-optic is awesome, so glad they have these in stock and for such a great price.

This is one of the most accurate guns out of the box I have ever bought. Great build quality. If you purchase this gun I would highly recommend that you also purchase the Sako one mount rail and rings. This gives you the most adjustability for your scope. The spacing of the machined picitany rail on the receiver has caused some people the have spacing issues mounting their scope.

I bought myself a rifle half a year ago, Sako S20 6.5PRC, I am very pleased with the rifle, the quality is excellent, everything works perfectly, Euro Optic's service is outstanding. Nothing at all to complain about!!

This is the 3rd Sako s20 I have bought from eurooptics (.308, .243, 6.5prc). I love this gun design. I also have a tikka t3x lite in 7mm-08 which I would use if I was hike hunting given it is lighter, but for 90% oh my hunting | shooting the s20 is my choice. It is dead on accurate with 1/2 MOA groupings and better recoil management. Fit and finish is superb, and it comes with cheek riser, 3 lug bolt, cerekote, threaded barrel, and thumbhole stock which is fantastic. Price is similar to less feature rich tikkas, so it was a no brainer.

Very accurate. Superb quality and craftsmanship. A little heavy but this helps with recoil.

Well… I’ve owned some expensive rifles. Then I picked up S20, with bare minimum load development put three touching shots at 200 (I know I know… five shot groups minimum but still, .16 MOA group at 200 has to tell you something about the rifle) and now I also wonder why I owned and learned on very expensive rifles… 😭 Sako S20 is amazing all around!

The rifle was as advertised (6.5 PRC), I put a 6x24x50 Zeiss on the rifle and it is a tack driver! At the end of sighting in the rifle, final 3 shot group were all touching with factory ammo. The trigger adjustment is easy to do which is very nice. This is my 4th Sako, the rifle is a little heavy so not a mountain rifle but if you like Sako’s that is what the Fin-Lite model is for. The S20 is a great product and Sako has done it again.

This is a must have. Installed a hellfire match works well with recoil. 0.63 inch group at 200yards with hornDy 143eldx ammo. No need to reload, save your time.

Love this rifle in 6.5 PRC. Everything is excellent. I showed groups (factory Nosler and Norma) to a friend of mine who is into Long Range Shooting and hunting and he said "Why do I spend all this money on custom rifles when this Sako shoots as well out of the box with factory loads as my customs do with reloads?". Complaints, not really complaints, just two things I wish were better, it could be lighter and I wish the stock, which I really like in both configurations (I have a Target also!) could be a little bit grippier. Far from a deal breaker. As far as the weight I stumbled on a Tikka Hunter, which is in the family so to speak, in 260 Remington (hard to find) which groups within a tenth or two of what the Sako's do and is light weight and will certainly do the job for those long walk hunts. 6,5 is a great caliber I am glad to see they finally caught on in the US after all these years I had a buddy who invented a 6.5 wildcat, similar to the 6.5 PRC, 25 years ago for silhouette shooting and that obviously made a big impression on me.
