Description

With over one million produced, Trijicon’s Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight, better known as the ACOG has become iconic in the realm of combat optics — and for good reason, the ACOG has an unquestioned reputation for quality and reliability. The Trijicon ACOG is the official medium range weapon sight for both U.S. Special Operations Forces and the Marine Corps as well as being the optic of choice for law enforcement agencies across the country. What sets the ACOG apart from the pack is what it offers to its users, increased hit potential regardless of light conditions. This is due to the tritium/fiber optic illuminated reticle found in most Trijicon ACOG riflescopes, this automatically adjusts illumination of the reticle based on available light. With a wide array of magnification levels, reticle designs, and reticle colors available — there truly is an ACOG for every mission.

Trijicon ACOG riflescopes come in the following magnification levels:

1.5x16, 1.5x24, 2x20, 3x24, 3x30, 3.5x55, 4x32, 5.5x50, and 6x48.

Features:

Superior Quality Glass Lenses
Multi-coated lenses provide superior clarity and light transmitting capabilities with zero distortion.
Rugged Aluminum-Alloy Housing
Forged 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum-housing provides for a nearly indestructible sighting system.
Fixed Magnification
Less moving parts than a variable optic equals increased durability and reliability. Seven magnification levels are available.
Waterproof up to 100 Meters
Dry-nitrogen filled to eliminate fogging. Five times more waterproof than military standard requirements.
Both Eyes Open Design
The ACOG can be used as a CQB sight when shooting both eyes open utilizing the Bindon Aiming Concept.

I have been testing this heavily over the past 3 months, so I'm now able to provide qualified feedback. I'm running this on a KAC SR-30 with a 9.5" 1/7 Blackout barrel. The BDC is designed for a 16" barrel, and it's in meters not yards. That's the one hit I'll give to this optic. Since in the US we use yards, Trijicon should be offering yard based BDCs for their US sales. So I'm deviating on two points, the barrel length which reduces velocity and yards instead of meters. The BDC is also designed around 115g supersonic and 220gr subsonic cartridges. Based on my math and validation testing, the Hornady 110gr vmax cartridge best matches the BDC in the above setup, deviating no more than ~1.5 inches from the BDC out to 500 yards. However on my SR-30, the 110's ran the system a bit too fast, and were not 100% reliable. I switched to the Sierra 115gr, and that has been 100%. The BDC ties out to 300 yards on a chest up target, and at 400 yards you have to place the line on the top of the head. Therefore 400 yards is the max effective use with this BDC, which meets my requirements perfectly. Running 125gr or more will result in too much of a deviation. The 0-50 yard subsonic dot works perfectly. The 100 yard dot hit ~8" low, requiring a top of shoulder hold. It's an ACOG, so it's bombproof. The 3x is perfectly fine for 0-400, and I have an RMR piggybacked on top and zeroed for subs for close in work. I wanted an short, light, durable optic that could range, & handle both subsonic and supersonic cartridges in the same reticle. That is a tall requirement list, and this ACOG works perfectly for this use case. Therefore, I think this is as close as you can get to the perfect optic for a short 300 blackout.
