This Accuracy International 50 caliber is designed for military use as an anti material weapon system. It features a proprietary, flat bottomed, high grade steel action that is bolted to a full length aluminum chassis. A full width recoil lug totally eliminates movement, ensuring this Accuracy International 50 BMG will maintain zero under absolutely any conditions. Two pressure release points minimize blowback in the event of a cartridge failure ensuring safety of the operator.
The two stage trigger maintains a large sear engagement until the first stage is taken up, thereby reducing the risk of an accidental discharge and can easily be removed for cleaning by simply loosening two socket-head screw.
The AI-AX50 barrel is screwed into the action with a large, 39mm diameter thread, guaranteeing consistent cold shot performance from the rigidly mounted 27" match grade free floating barrel . The double chamber muzzle brake, screwed on and tension clamped, effectively reduces recoil, muzzle flash and dust eruption. Hensoldt's 3.5-26x56 is an impressive riflescope with a large magnification range in a very compact package making it perfect for both short and long range engagements. The compact length (14.5") of this riflescope is particularly important when used in conjunction with forward mounted night vision or thermal devices required for military use.
An illuminated MRAD hash-mark reticle is standard and provides all the information needed without the clutter prevalent in many other reticles, but it's the enormous available adjustment range that puts the Hensoldt 3.5-26x56 in a league of its own.
With a double-turn elevation turret providing 18 mrad (180 0.1MRAD clicks) of adjustment per rotation for a total of 36 MRAD (126MOA) no target will be too far. To aid use in different climates and elevations, the turret stop allows the user to click 0.5MRAD below the zero point, a feature not available in lesser scopes.
