Bought one of these for a 22LR I have. Having already bought the 4-12x50 version I can only say the 72-x32 compares favourably. It's an excellently clear scope with really good low light performance and especially well suited to a 22 cal. The only potential down sides are the turrets which are not zero resettable (however after market options exist) and the fact that you have to get the 90mm eye relief exactly right and due to the 32mm objective any slight sideward upward movement of the head will cause a 'shadow' to be cast on the sight picture (it is actually the sun shroud surrounding the objective). This means that you will only get a clear sight picture when your head is in exactly the right place. Some may find that annoying but for me, on a 22 cal which is a training instrument anyway, this is a useful feature since it forces me do adopt a very consistent head position for every shot. I don't shoot larger calibers so I can't speak for people shooting those but this is and excellent scope for 22 cal target shooting out to 100 meters or so with more magnification out to c.a. 75 meters than you will ever need in 22 cal.
