Description

Named after Aegis, the protective shield handed down from Zeus in Greek mythology, the Kimber Aegis Venom series of 1911 handguns are light weight and easy to carry but still retain a high degree of functionality. Unlike many semiautomatic pistols with wide, bulky grips, the Kimber Aegis feature a slim grip and a compact design. They’ve also been given Kimber’s own Carry Melt treatment, a process that rounds sharper edges to ensure a smooth draw and reduces the risk of snagging. One of the most notable features of the Kimber Aegis Venom is the milled slide with a Vortex Venom Red Dot sight pre-installed. The standard iron sights have also been raised, allowing the user to line them up through the lens of the red dot sight in the event of a low or dead battery.

Just bought the Pro .45 acp version with the Venom sight. Very well made gun. Well finished and accurate with 230 grain ball ammo. The sight works well, and has held zero so far. One problem with the gun. Quite a few failures to feed - Specifically, failure to go fully into battery using factory FMJ ammo. Checked the usual suspect - the extractor - and it was very tight. A slight bend, and the extractor allowed case rims to feed up under it without further issue. A simple thing if you know what to look for, but at this price point, it should have been caught before it left the factory. Service and staff attitude at Euro Optics was fine, as was the firearms selection.
