Description

The Mark 5HD Riflescope by Leupold was designed to meet the demands of hunters and shooters who needed a scope to max out the performance of long-range rifles and ammunition. When compared to riflescopes in a similar class, the Mark 5HD weighs significantly less, making is an excellent choice for professional guides or hunts that require long hikes. The Mark 5HD also comes standard with Leupold’s Professional-Grade Optical System to deliver outstanding light transmission and high-resolution while simultaneously reducing glare. In addition, the Mark 5HD features an exposed elevation turret with large, easy to read numbers and tactile, audible click adjustments. This turret is also protected with a ZeroLock dial, helping prevent accidental adjustments.

I debated for some time about whether to get this scope with the PR-1 mil reticle or wait for the PR-2 reticle to become available. I didn’t think I wanted a reticle that was so bare bones plain. I was wrong. First of all, the glass quality on the Mark 5Hd is exceptional. The scope is light but built like a tank. As for the reticle, it is perfect! I don’t shoot in competitions but I believe this would be perfect even for that application. I often shoot without a spotter and the plain simple reticle allows me to see my misses. If you are looking for a scope that I believe contends with the ATACR and other high end scopes, give this one serious consideration.
