Description

The Benelli SuperNova embodies a modular design concept into a pump action shotgun. With the optional SteadyGrip stock, this shotgun can be transformed into a high-performance turkey gun or deer slayer. It’s like having several Benelli shotguns in one. There’s even a barrel with rifle sights for home defense and a SuperNova Tactical fitted with a ghost-ring rear sight and pistol grip. At the heart of the Benelli SuperNova shotgun is a lightweight steel skeleton framework over-molded with a high-tech polymer, making the new SuperNova super-light, super-strong and almost completely impervious to any weather element.

I had high expectations for this gun, maybe too high, but it’s not all I hoped for. I thought from the reviews for the supernova that it would be really smooth operating. It is gritty/sticky feeling when you operate the slide, quite a bit worse than my 870 express which I was hoping to upgrade with this model. I am hoping it will loosen/smooth up some with more use. So far only shot about a box through it. I really like the magazine button idea but it is clunky to operate and you have to do it bare handed only. I do not like the shape of the slide at all. It is not comfortable to use, but it looks tactical I guess. I am hoping it will be reliable and easy to maintain as all the reviews say it is. Otherwise it will find a new home.
