New Product - Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 Riflescope

Nightforce Precision Optics' latest unveiling is the Advanced Tactical Riflescope (or, more commonly, the ATACR) with a brand new magnification range - 7-35x with a 56mm objective lens. This will be offered in 3 variants:

The MOAR variant is pictured below on an Accuracy International AX Short Action with ERA-TAC adjustable inclination mount, and Long Range Accuracy bipod:

This addition of an even wider magnification range for the ATACR (which was previously offered in 4-16x and 5-25x variants) provides a reasonable low end magnification of 7x and a high end of 35x that is more than competitive with other scopes in its class - with the exception of the Schmidt Bender 5-45x High Power (which has not been released yet), the closest magnification contender is Schmidt's 3-27 High Power, unless you consider the NXS 8-32 - but that is not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, given the differences between the NXS and ATACR scope lines.

Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 Side Focus Parallax Adjustment

This scope's side focus parallax adjustment features a 10 meter to infinity adjustment range, another big plus to shooters who need their scopes to focus in close. This adjustment knob also houses the single button which controls the DigIllum digital illumination, which features red or green illumination with multiple brightness levels on demand - the first press turns the illumination on, and each additional press changes the brightness setting. A long (5 second) press will change the illumination color, and a medium press (2 seconds and release) will turn off the illumination.

The objective lens of the Nightforce ATACR 7-35 is a healthy 56mm.

A generous 56 millimeter objective lens ensures that the ED glass allows plenty of light in.

Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 with 34mm Tube

Much like its smaller siblings, the ATACR 4-16 and 5-25, the ATACR 7-35 features a 34mm main tube. The scope's specification denotes 100 MOA/27 mrad of elevation adjustment, and 60 MOA/16 mrad of windage - but, it's worth noting that the pre-production model in these photos featured ~130MOA of adjustment - so one might hope that the final models will have a bit more than originally specified. With that much adjustment, this scope is certainly cut out to dominate the extreme long-range market.

Like many other Nightforce scopes, the windage turrets are capped - above, you can see the windage turret exposed. The elevation turret features ZeroStop to help the operator quickly return to zero.

While our pre-production model did not have the Power Throw Lever (PTL) included, production models of the ATACR 7-35x56 are slated to include both the PTL and Nightforce-branded flip caps.

Nightforce ATACT 7-35x56, ready to go.

All in all, this scope is an extremely promising addition to the already robust ATACR line - and will likely become immediately popular with shooters critical of their optics in tactical applications or competitive atmospheres.

Kyle - we used 1.375" here. You can get away with just slightly less, but to have some room for flip-caps, that's what we recommend.

I tend to get carried away with expensive toys and the recent addition of this 7X35 was not different. I took it to the range yesterday, somewhat ready to be disappointed and was shocked to watch the holes appear on my target, clear as a bell at 600 meters! I thought my S&Bs would never have competition, but this new scope comes darn close. Clear, dependable and clicks appeared accurate during a brief 200 meter test. I put it on a Desert Tech 6.5 Creedmoor and that is where it will stay. Jason at Europtic has steered me right on for years now and I heartily give this me scope by NF two thumbs up!

That's awesome - I've been impressed with this scope as well, and I've been using PM II scopes for years.
