Great scope, but it weighs 21.3 ounces, NOT 18 ounces. I called the manufacturer and they just said "manufacturing tolerances". Not a very good answer but I still like the scope - It's a TANK!

Great scope for the price. Then on top of that you get a free set of Steiner rings.

I purchased the 2-10x42 S-1 a few weeks ago for a LR-308 I'm building. I call it the "Hog Hammer". I'm so impressed with the optical clarity of this scope, I can not wait to get it out on a hunt. I used a set of Weaver extra high tactical rings and they worked perfect.I have used a set of 8x30 military marine binnos for close to 20 years and would not go out without them...I have no dopt the GS3 will perform just as flawless.

Got this scope for a Browning xbolt 270 win, look like it is top notch. Scope is super clear, nice adjustment, well constructed. I would definitely buy another.

I've compared this scope with some of my other scopes that are not in the same price range. When looking at farther distances this is where you notice a big difference. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

The Steiner GS3 2-10x42 is a fantastic scope, especially for the price. It compares to my buddy's Swarovski, Kahles, and Leica scopes, but is less than half the price. It is even better than my Leupold VX-6 (2-12x42), as the glass is clearer with better light transmission. I really like the 2-10 magnification range on my Browning BAR .308. I hunt deer and hogs in both thick timber and open country, so this scope is perfect for this rifle. I got the 4A reticle, not the S-1. The S-1 reticle is not really practical for us .30 caliber shooters, as the hash marks are based on .22-250 ballistics. I paid more for the 4A reticle version, but it was worth it for the type of shooting I do. It is physically a big scope, but I think that contributes to its quality and function. It weighs comparable to similar scope in that class, too. The 30mm tube is nice as well. I would highly recommend this scope or any of the GS3 models. It's really an incredible scope for the price.

I bought the extreme predator to mount in my 25-06 long range Remington and couldn't be more pleased. Brightness and clarity are second to none. I'll buy more Steiner scopes for my other rifles.

I actually bought the predator xtreme. I bought one and before I could mount it on my rifle my wife decided it was going on her rifle. Got to love a wife that hunts too and appreciates good optics.

Perfect range of magnification, 2.5-10, for my purposes.Forgiving eye relief for fast acquisition with brilliant full field clarity. The S1 reticle is straight forward and useful. I really appreciated the included reticle application chart for the various calibers.Everything I needed with nothing I didn't need.Perfect.

I cannot even begin to explain the quality of my Steiner riflescope. I’ve owned low end scopes from day one, e.g. Tasco and Bushnell. Recently, took the advice from a friend and started purchasing better quality scopes. My first attempt was a Nikon, I returned it after I noticed the plastic turret covers were stripping. Since, I bought two are Burris Fullfield E1. This Steiner is the next jump up, great optics and hardware! During my first outing, I compared it to a friend’s Leupold VX-2 Gold series, a night and day difference. Instead of saying your VX is a poor attempt at optics, I stated try shooting my rifle. I hope that it swayed him. He’s a great rifle and average scope.

I own a couple of these Steiner scopes. They are as good as it gets for target shooting and deer hunting. Optics are very bright and clear. They are very solid and there's no change of zero under heavy use even on my 375 h&h. Like them so much I'm ordering the 3rd one for my new 7mm rem mag custom rifle. These scopes as well as everything Steiner builds are top notch. Try one and I'm sure you will agree.

My Steiner 2-10x42 is on my M700 .308. Got to range today to zero at 100 yds.I was happy with the glass, very clear from edge to edge. It took me only 5 rds. once on paper to zero. So far so good, only time will tell when I get more shooting time on it

Just bought the scope, very happy. The glass is 1st class and extemely clear, along the same quality of other similar priced euro scopes. What really stands out is the build quality, this thing is built like a tank and finished beautifully. I could have bought other more expensive scopes, but I felt like the Steiner could stand the harsh conditions of the sw pacific. Ballistic plex was a great idea, simple to adopt and innovative. I would bet that this will be copied by other manufacturers. The only thing that rattled my cage was the fact that no scope cover was included considering the cost.

Bought this scope when they first came out. I can't say enough good about it. It's a very robust scope. Only wish it were available in a little higher magnification. Such as 3/12. Love the 42mm objective on my hunting rifles.
