Well, I’ll get it off my chest. First I love beretta shotguns, they are a fine piece of work. I have several, but this time I wasn’t as pleased pleased as I have been before.
It’s petty, but for a shotgun that’s $2800 I am a bit picky. After taking it out of the plastic piece of crap plastic junk case, with about 15 pieces of foam inside, I took the pieces out of the plastic bag to uncover a complete mess. The engraving was full of this black material, the barrel and receiver are has small metal shavings and the fore end didn’t slap on and click. I spent 2.5 hours to clean and lube it. Does that seem like someone who sends a gun out has pride in workmanship, or a detailed gun manufacturer? No
As far a the gun goes, it’s a classic beretta 687 , it points like nothing other, I’m a lucky one who doesn’t need to be fitted for a factory beretta!! I took it for a whirl on dove today, and after 2 missis I was back to banging them down. People complement on its appearance, and if they shoulder it, they like the “manners” the gun has.
I really would like it if Beretta would get serious about that plastic case, it’s bound to damage a gun, not protect it.
