Description

New for 2022, the Mesa FFT represents the latest innovation Christensen Arm’s carbon fiber structural manufacturing. It features a stock with Flash Forged Technology (FFT), a proprietary and advanced manufacturing technique that does away with the status quo of “overbuilding” a product in order to meet safety standards. Instead, Flash Forged Technology creates an extremely lightweight structure that exceeds strength and safety margins without compromising performance. The FFT stock utilizes an aerospace monocoque shell to eliminate the unnecessary internal weight found on traditional composite stocks, resulting in a stock that’s a full pound lighter with a sturdy and more consistent shooting foundation. This ultra-lightweight stock makes the Mesa FFT an outstanding choice for backwoods hunters, or hunts that involve long hikes. The FFT manufacturing process is also 100% zero-waste: all trimmed composites and defective parts are broken down and put back into the production process, which greatly helps Christensen Arm’s goal of wildlife conservation.

To ensure the utmost reliability, The Mesa FFT uses systems that have already been proven to be effective, such as the M16 style extractor. The receiver also come with an enlarged ejection port, and magnum calibers come with a dual ejector. Other features of the Mesa FFT include a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee, due largely in part to its TriggerTech trigger and featherweight couture, button rifled barrel. In addition, the Mesa FFT is compatible with Remington 700 optics bases, and is available in a wide range of chamberings as well as stock and barrel finishes.

Unfortunately the finish on my gun stock wasn’t completed so it’s just bare foam which I am extremely concerned about I haven’t had the time to actually reach about replacement.

Great price on a top quality rifle. Fast easy shipping to my local FFL dealer. Fit, finish, and feel is great. Rifle is easily sub MOA at 100. Still need to stretch its legs out to 600, hopefully soon.

I purchased one of these several weeks ago and just took it to the range to zero. This rifle shot about 0.5 MOA with 212 gr ELD-X - that's the good news. After I picked the rifle up from my FFL, I took the rifle home I started to check things in more detail; action screws, muzzle brake, bolt operation, etc, and found the action screws to be ~50-in/lbs not the recommended 60. The muzzle brake was loose and there was rust on the threads, and locking/unlocking the bolt was incredibly stiff. The bedding on this rifle leaves something to be desired, but it shot well, so I guess I got lucky. I ended up replacing the firing pin spring with a spring from another long action Rem 700 action I had, and that fixed the stiff lock/unlock of the bolt. Apparently, Christensen uses ridiculously strong springs, I presume to ensure reliable primer ignition. Other than those few items, the rifle looks great, it's light, and functions well. It also kicks like a horse, but a new muzzle brake should fix that. Overall, it's lacking in the quality I would expect from Christensen, but it functions well and looks pretty, so I'm happy.
