Hornady’s V-MAX Bullets combine proven materials, an innovative design, and a streamlined profile to deliver maximum accuracy, dramatic expansion, and explosive fragmentation. The V-MAX Bullets come equipped with a specially designed polymer tip. This is the secret to the V-MAX Bullet’s lethality: upon impact, the polymer tip is forced into a cavity resting between the tip's shaft and the body of the bullet, the hard shaft builds up speed and energy before driving into the core, causing the entire package to rapidly expand to the point of violent fragmentation, even at low terminal velocities. This explosive performance is further enhanced by a swaged lead core, which allows precise formation of the core up and around the tip, with a cavity under the tip's stem. This allows the tip to build up energy before smashing into the core, causing dramatic fragmentation of the core and jacket. In addition, the V-MAX Bullet offers an optimized aerodynamic profile for a high ballistic coefficient as well as maximum bearing surface for added in-flight stability.
