I searched for a rifle that would satisfy my need for a long range hunting rifle, as well as a long range target rifle. After selecting this rifle, I decided to use Berger 180 gr Hybrid target bullets and so far I shot distances from 100 yards (to zero the rifle) and much longer ranges for matches.
The matches I competed in (with this rifle) include an 1100 yard match (10 targets from 100 to 1100), as well as a match where I fired at 1038 yards, 1288 yards, and a mile. This rifle allowed me first round hits at the 1038, and 1288 yard targets as well as consecutive hits at a mile after the first two shots (that were low - my error). I have fired close to 400 rounds in this gun......great weapon.
After matching this weapon with a NightForce NXS 3.5-15 X 50 scope and a 20MOA base, as well as hand-loaded ammunition, this rifle allowed me to successfully shoot at a mile and everything in between.......with only a trigger adjustment -- which I did my self.
